50 Books to read before you die

Quite some time ago, my parents bought me a bookmark with a list:
50 Books to read before you die.
On the list are a lot of famous must-read books. Since I'm a huge fan of reading I really hope to read the whole list. And I figured.. The next months I have some free time... So this is the challenge: I have to read those 50 Books this year. That means I've got a lot of reading to do. I'll post a little something about each book. Fortunately, I already read a few of them. Unfortunately, the list begins with The Lord of the Rings triology, which of course are three books instead of one. We have Lord of the Rings in or book collection at home and I will start tomorrow. Interior Inspiration

I'm painting and decorating my new room next week so I'm constantly thinking about colours and furniture and wonderful things to make it my own little place it the house. I figured you wouldn't mind seeing some inspiration.

I love pastel and light colours, so my room is going to be very light purple with a lot of white.
There's going to be a wall like this, probably a bit smaller where I can collect different things I love.

I have a lot of books and picture frames and what they did with this wall looks fun.
I like the feeling of this room, but I'm not that fond of the couch.

I think you get the look I'm going for. I hope it turns out very pretty :)

(:

It's finally over. I'm done with school. At least for the next three months. If I've done the exams good enough that is. But for now, I'll just assume that I did. So, I'll have plenty of time to post some lovely things. (I have a few fun small projects going on that I want to show you.)

5 Looks: Stripes

I know, I know.. I'm not suppose to write anything on our blog until my exams are over. But this morning I had an exam (art) and the next one (physics) is not until friday. So, I've allowed myself to post a 5 Looks. For you who don't visit this blog often, every now and then I post 5 Looks I love and get inspiration from and I hope that you'll enjoy it too. This time: Stripes!

by Frida
I love how simple this is. I'm not a huge fan of the jeans though.

Maybe it's a little too much zebra, but I think it looks very elegant :)

I always like a nice simple dress!
You won't see me wearing those shorts anytime soon! But you've got to admit, it really gets your attention. And she looks great in them.

This one is just fun. And it's a really nice sweater.

Now I'm off to study some more. Wish me luck! ;)

Klomppop

Yesterday I went to an amazing local festival! It's called "Klomppop" and this was the 30th edition!
My boyfriend and I jumped on our bikes at 11:00 and arrived around 11:30 at the festivalgrounds. We bought our ticket (€5,- cheaper then when we would buy it after 13:00!!), listened to a small local metal band, Dehumanisation, and went home to get something to eat and get a coat.

Around 16:15 we were back, just in time for Go Back to the Zoo!! An amazing dutch band who just scored a hit with there song Electric!

After Go Back to the Zoo came Nuff Said, I didn't know them, but they really surprised me! There music is perfect for a festival, easy to dance on and a lot of fun to listen to!

After Nuff Said we went to eat something, missed Stream of Passion, a heavy metal band, so I didn't really mind about that. But when we came back we heard an amazing sound coming out of the tents. The Irish band Delorentos just started! That energy! Absolutely awesome! After the performance they distributed their album "In love with detail", for free! I'm listening to it right now, and it is super!

After this amazing performance we had like no time to catch our breath because there she was, CARO EMERALD! practicly thé reason I went to Klomppop! She is a sensation! She got the crowd dancing with her jazzband, an inspiring combination of a bariton saxophone, saxophone, contrabass, trumpet, piano, guitar and a dj! And they really made a show out of it, with man in suits and with (sun)glasses. Very 50's, 60's!

After Caro Emerald we had to give our feet some rest, but not for long because after Saint Jude, an English rockband, there was Moke!! An other dutch sensation! You could see they had so much fun while on stage!

And then is was time to go home. I had an amazing afternoon, evening and night, but was very happy when I could crawl in my soft bed by 00:30. What a day!

Learning

Only two weeks until my first exams. It's the last thing I have to do before I'm finally done with my current school. A lot to do in very little time. So not that much posting, but Fleur hopefully will.

Have a nice few weeks!

Love,
Karin.
