Roman Holiday & When In Rome

In a few weeks a friend and I are going to Rome! We're so excited to see this famous old city. To prepare ourselves and mostly to have some fun, we had a little movie night yesterday. We watched two movies that were filmed in Rome.

First.. Roman Holiday.

Roman Holiday is a 1953 movie still completely in black and white with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. 118 minutes of old music, an amazing sense of style and the lovely manners that unfortunately seem to have disappeared these days. It's about a princess that escapes from the ambassade in Rome and meets a journalist. Together they have their own little holiday in Rome. It was really fun to watch this and I wanted to give you a little impression. If you like this kind of things, you should definitely watch this one!

And second... When In Rome.
After Roman Holiday we wanted to see some colour. The world isn't black and white anymore. Nor is Rome. When in Rome is a 2010 romantic comedy with Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel. When Beth goes to her sister's wedding in Rome, she ends up drunk in the 'fountain of love'. She picks up four coins that people threw in the fountain, which turns out to be not as innocent as she thought. Four men are now desperately in love with her and follow her everywhere. And of course, she finds her own love in the end. It's such an amazing movie! We laught till we had tears in our eyes! And that is a good thing.

Anyway, Both movies are really worth watching.

Do you have any movie suggestions? I would love it if you'd suggest a few have-to-watch-movies in the comment section!

(500) Days of Summer

I've wanted to see the movie '(500) Days of Summer' for quite some time. So Fleur and I saw it this week. It's such a lovely movie. The whole concept of love that isn't returned is not that original. But the I never saw a movie like this. There was one scene that reminded us of 'Enchanted'. I really enjoyed that one.

The soundtrack is amazing and we both love Zooey Deschanel (and her sister, who is the actrice that playes Bones). Anyway, to make you want to see it.. You can watch the trailer here.

Alice in Wonderland

When I was a little girl, I read 'Alice in Wonderland'. I can't remember everything about it, but I still love those quotes you occasionally come across. Like this one.
Anyway, you understand I really want to see the movie that comes out soon! Maybe the movie doesn't come in theaters in the Netherlands. It's a whole thing they argue about. I just hope it will. You've probably already seen the trailer, but when you haven't:

Do you want to see it?

All The Right Moves

We are both very into the new song of OneRepublic. I've always liked their music, but now they also have an amazing video for their new single. It reminds me a little bit of Moulin Rouge. Full of dancing, gold, red, masks, gentlemen and big dresses. We have a few pictures for you. Enjoy! And the song with video:

Imaginary Picnic

Remember me telling you about one of my projects for 2010?
I always wanted to make a little film. Just a tiny one. With a few lovely images.
Anyway. I bought a digital camera, because my old one wasn't working anymore.
And you can make little films with acceptable quality with it.
So who knows? Maybe I'll make one soon. Once I get my camera.

But for now: This amazing little video by Nirrimi. Her first one.
You should check out her photography too. She's really one of my favourite photographers. Pretty as a Picture on DeviantArt

I'm very busy with school.. And so is Fleur. We hope we can post bigger pieces soon.

DIY 2010

DIY ToDoList 2010

2010 is going to be a year full of stress and changes. I'll have my exams and hopefully graduate. I'm going to move out of my parents house and start studying biology. I'm very excited, but also a little scared. Beside all of that I want to be creative and do fun things. So that's why I made this list. I got this idea from A Beautiful Mess. She made a DIY to do list. And so did I. A few DIY projects that I will do in 2010. I won't have time for it, but I'll make time for it, because it's amazing to do. And you'll hear all about it.

Make a piece of clothing. From scratch. Not that I've done this before. But I will.Make a collection of all the amazing recipes I tried. Nicely put together in a book.

Try out a huge part of my dad's old camera collection. Including polaroidcamera's. Can't wait.

Get creative with these bags. Add prints/fabrics/buttons/texts. (Not all at once of course.)

Make a huge painting. Something that isn't finished in a few seconds. Maybe a wallpainting. Or on a big canvas. I've always wanted to do that.Photograph and photograph and photograph. And do a lot of shoots together with Fleur. This photo is the result of one of our previous ones. Try new things, be creative and learn.

Make a video. It could be drawn, a music video, a stop motion. Who knows? I always wanted to do that. Look at these amazing little videos. Love them.

Wish me luck!

Her Morning Elegance

I'm quite ill. Probably the flu. That's the reason for the lack of posting the last couple of days. Fleur can't really post either, she's in Spain at the moment. Lucky her! I will be better in a few days. Until then..

Enjoy, it's amazing. Can't stop watching it.

Stina Persson & Replay

I always liked the art of Stina Persson. Ever since one of my friends told me about her, I followed her amazing work. So I was surprised when I saw a few of my favourite artworks in a commercial on television. Replay used it in a commercial for a fragance. I love it. It's so inspiring and colourful. Just watch it!

Autumn

Autumn is officially here. Okay I admit, the weather is not like it. The sun was shining and I suddenly needed icecream today, but the official autumn is here. I love every season. I think there are the most beautiful things in winter, spring, summer and autumn. I love the snow and the hot chocolate in the winter. I love the young animals and everything turning green in the spring. And the summer is the time of the sun and the time of enjoying icecream at the beach.

The Autumn?? I love the autumn. Not because of the huge amount of spiders I meet everyday. Definetly not. But because of this:

It's the perfect video. The images are amazing. The music could be different, although it's quite beautiful. But the images are really wonderful. And I think this will also fit "A Thousand Reasons to Smile." Please do.

Have a lovely Autumn!

Penelope

Penelope is a modern fairytale about a girl with a pig nose. Yes, I'm really talking about a girl with a nose of a pig. But look at these pictures. Personally, I think the whole set and clothes are beautiful. The colour combinations in the clothes are strange, but it works. And the set is modern, but with a lot of old things, like the beautiful house Penelope lives in.
I really enjoyed watching this movie. Well, see for yourself:
